Refreshing and aquatic, this new color casts the Ingenieur’s signature clean architecture in a new light. The 35-millimeter stainless steel case and integrated bracelet ensure high wearing comfort, while an elaborate combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces plays beautifully with light at any hour of the day – or night.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In 1976, legendary Geneva artist and watch designer Gérald Genta created the Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832. Revolutionary for its purity of form and the boldness of its presence, it announced the birth of an entirely new product category within the watch industry. Half a century on, the stainless steel luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet has lost none of its luster.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">In 2023, IWC Schaffhausen brought back Gérald Genta’s visionary design with the Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp;40. While honoring the original’s distinct aesthetic, the model was comprehensively re-engineered to meet the highest standards of ergonomics and finishing. The Swiss luxury watchmaker has since then continuously expanded the collection. A milestone came with the Ingenieur Automatic 35 – a more compact model in a 35-millimeter case size. Now, IWC Schaffhausen adds a new chapter with a surprising Pool-colored dial.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The <strong>Ingenieur Automatic 35</strong> (Ref. IW324902) features a 35-millimeter case and integrated bracelet crafted in robust and durable stainless steel. Its centerpiece is the dial in a fresh new color called Pool. As it is characteristic of the Ingenieur, the dial carries the signature “Grid” pattern consisting of small lines and squares that lends it striking visual depth. Rhodium-plated hands and applied indices filled with Super-LumiNova<sup>®</sup> provide elegant contrast and ensure easy legibility in low light conditions. The distinctive bezel, another defining design code of the Ingenieur, is secured to the case ring by five functional screws. Finally, the bracelet, which attaches via the middle links, improves the ergonomics and offers a supple and comfortable fit on the wrist. The “Probus Scafusia” featured on the crown underlines IWC’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and manufacturing excellence.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>A FASCINATING PLAY OF LIGHT ACROSS EVERY SURFACE&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Ingenieur Automatic 35 leaves nothing to be desired in terms of finishing. The watch skillfully combines different surface treatments to achieve a beautiful interplay of light during the day and at night. Both the case and bezel feature satin-finished and polished surfaces, while the bracelet’s center links are polished against satin-finished H-links. A sapphire crystal case back reveals the Caliber&nbsp; 47110 within. IW324911) with a diamond-set 18-karat 5N gold bezel, and the Ingenieur Automatic 35 (Ref. IW324907) with a deep blue dial. The new flagship Ingenieur model pairs a case and bracelet crafted from 18-carat 5N gold with an olive green “Grid” dial. The highlight is the flying minute tourbillon at 6 o’clock, which rotates around its axis once every minute. This elegant and refined luxury sports watch is further distinguished by its highly detailed finishing, including techniques such as satin finishing and polishing. The IWC-manufactured 82905 calibre, featuring a Pellaton winding system with ceramic components, is visible through the sapphire glass case back.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">With the new Ingenieur, IWC Schaffhausen revisits the bold and visionary design created by Gérald Genta in the 1970s, pairing it with enhanced ergonomics and a highly detailed finishing. Since the launch of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 in 2023, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer has continuously extended the collection with new sizes, materials and complications such as the emblematic crown-controlled perpetual calendar from Kurt Klaus. IWC now introduces an exclusive new model featuring the undisputed “queen of complications” in fine watchmaking, the tourbillon.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Limited to 100 pieces, the <strong>Ingenieur Tourbillon 41</strong> (Ref. IW345901) features a 41.6 millimetres case and an integrated bracelet crafted from 18-carat 5N gold. The characteristic bezel, crown protection and crown are also made of this precious metal. Securing the bezel to the case back ring, the five functional screws are made of 18-carat Armor Gold<sup>®</sup>, a material with significantly higher hardness values than conventional gold alloys. Featuring the characteristic “Grid” pattern, the structured dial is a hallmark feature of the Ingenieur and adds a stunning level of texture and depth. Its dark olive green hue beautifully contrasts the gold. The hands are gold-plated, and the appliques, which are individually set by hand, are made of solid gold. As it combines various techniques, the Ingenieur Tourbillon 41 also boasts a high level of detail in its finishing. The case, bezel and bracelet links are satin-finished and feature polished edges. Gold brings out the intricate lines and angles of the Ingenieur particularly well, underscoring the sculptural beauty of the Gérald Genta-inspired design.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>STATE-OF-THE-ART TOURBILLON AT 6 O’CLOCK&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The tourbillon places the balance wheel and the escapement inside a small cage that rotates around its axis once every minute. This continuous rotation counteracts the effects of gravity on the oscillating system, contributing to a highly accurate rate. The flying minute tourbillon of the Ingenieur Tourbillon 41 is placed at the 6 o’clock position and suspended from gold-coated bridges, providing a stunning visual spectacle. Consisting of 56 individual parts, the delicate mechanism weighs just 0.635 grams. Due to the high number and minuscule size of its components, the tourbillon ranks among the most complex complications for a watchmaker to assemble. Thanks to the integrated tourbillon stop, the mechanism can be brought to a complete halt, allowing the watch to be set with down-to-the-second accuracy. The pallet lever and the escape wheel are treated with Diamond Shell<sup>®</sup> technology, an innovative coating that reduces friction and enhances the flow of energy in the movement.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>HIGH-END MOVEMENT WITH PELLATON WINDING&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Ingenieur Tourbillon 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82905 calibre. Its highly efficient Pellaton winding system utilises the rotor’s movements in both directions to reliably build up a power reserve of 80&nbsp;hours in the mainspring. Components of the winding system that are subject to high stress are manufactured from virtually wear-free zirconium oxide ceramic. Among these are the automatic wheel and the clicks, which are crafted from black ceramic, while the rotor bearing is made of white ceramic. The movement also features a high level of detail in the finishing. As an example, the automatic bridge and the rotor are both gold-plated and decorated with Geneva stripes. The IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre, featuring a Pellaton winding system reinforced with ceramic components, can be viewed through the sapphire glass case back.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Titanium is characterised by its low weight, high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Its matte grey colour also makes it an attractive material for use in wristwatches. Over more than four decades, IWC Schaffhausen has acquired comprehensive expertise in machining and finishing this metal. With the introduction of the Gérald Genta-inspired Ingenieur in 2023, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer also presented an automatic model with a case and bracelet crafted from grade 5 titanium. This year, IWC launches a new model that blends this signature case material with a complication equally emblematic of the brand: the crown-controlled perpetual calendar from Kurt Klaus.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The <strong>Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41</strong> (Ref. IW344904) combines the Gérald Genta-derived integrated bracelet design with an execution in titanium for the first time. It features a grade 5 titanium case measuring 41&nbsp;millimetres in diameter and an integrated titanium bracelet. The bracelet is attached to the case via its middle links, offering excellent ergonomics. As titanium is about 45 percent lighter than steel, the watch feels very comfortable on the wrist. The characteristic round bezel, a hallmark feature of the Ingenieur, is secured to the case ring with five functional screws. This titanium watch is further distinguished by its high-end finishing. The case, bezel, crown protection, and bracelet links are sandblasted, with their edges lightly polished, while the crown is sandblasted. A satin finish on the sides of the case and the bracelet accentuates the intricate lines and angles of the Gérald Genta-inspired Ingenieur design.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>ELABORATELY FINISHED DIAL COMPLEMENTS THE TITANIUM LOOK&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The matte grey dial blends harmoniously with the titanium case and bracelet. Having the same colour as the metal, it lends the watch a strikingly monolithic look, almost as if it had been carved out of a solid block of titanium. The dial features the characteristic “Grid” structure, consisting of small lines and squares, adding depth and texture to it. The subdials displaying the calendar information are treated with a circular satin finish and feature a refined azurage on their edges. In the subdial at 6 o’clock, the single moon disc boasts a detailed azurage background. Both the applied metal markers and the hands are filled with Super-LumiNova<sup>®</sup>, ensuring excellent legibility.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>THE PERPETUAL CALENDAR OFFERS A HIGH DEGREE OF AUTONOMY&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Developed in the early 1980s by IWC’s former head watchmaker, Kurt Klaus, the perpetual calendar is mechanically programmed to account for many of the Gregorian calendar’s irregularities. It will automatically recognize the different lengths of the months and also insert a leap day every four years at the end of February. The date is displayed in the subdial at 3 o’clock, the month at 6 o’clock, while the day of the week is shown at the 9 o’clock position. The moon phase has been integrated into the subdial at 6 o’clock. Thanks to a special reduction gear train, it will only deviate from the moon’s actual orbit by one day after 577.5 years. The counter at 9 o’clock also features a small leap-year indicator that counts down the years to the next leap year.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>A MECHANICAL POWERHOUSE WITH CERAMIC COMPONENTS&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Inside the titanium case, the IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre is at work. This high-end automatic movement features a Pellaton winding system, which uses movements of the oscillating mass in both directions to wind the watch. The mainspring stores a power reserve of 60 hours. Components of the movement that are subject to high stress are crafted from zirconium oxide ceramic. Ceramic is, like titanium, a signature IWC material. It is hard and virtually wear-free, making it a suitable choice for the automatic wheel and the clicks. The balance wheel oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), ensuring accurate timekeeping. One of many challenges is that the parts shrink by about one-third during the sintering process. This loss in size must be factored in already during the design phase. The new Ingenieur Automatic 42 is a true-to-proportion ceramic execution of the Gérald Genta-derived integrated bracelet design. IWC achieves this with a multi-part ceramic case construction, which eliminates the need for a movement container. A thin titanium ring secures the movement, holds the functional screws from both the front and the back, and ensures a high water resistance of 10 bar. The sapphire crystals and gaskets are pressed directly into the case and case back ring, respectively. After sintering, the material can only be processed further and machined using special diamond tools. With the Ingenieur Automatic 42, IWC once again underscores its expertise in ceramic finishing by combining satin f inishing, sandblasting and polishing on the same watch. It marks the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s first stainless steel model to combine the Gérald Genta-inspired Ingenieur design with the perpetual calendar developed by Kurt Klaus. The 41-millimetre case, bezel and bracelet are elaborately finished with satin-finished and polished surfaces. On the blue dial with its characteristic “Grid” pattern, three subdials display the date, day of the week, month and perpetual moon phase. Rhodium-plated hands and metal markers filled with Super-LumiNova<sup>®</sup> ensure perfect legibility. The IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre with Pellaton winding system and ceramic components can be viewed through the sapphire glass case back.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In 1976, IWC introduced the Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832, spearheading its SL collection of luxury sports watches in stainless steel. Less than a decade later, in 1985, the now legendary perpetual calendar developed by Kurt Klaus premiered in the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph. Forty years later, IWC now presents the first stainless steel model to combine the emblematic Ingenieur design inspired by Gérald Genta with Kurt Klaus’ crown-operated perpetual calendar.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The <strong>Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41</strong> (Ref. IW344903) features a stainless steel case with a diameter of 41 millimetres. The proportions of each case component have been reworked and adapted to accommodate the perpetual calendar movement while offering perfect ergonomics. Seamlessly integrated into the case via a middle-link attachment, the H-link bracelet with a butterfly clasp ensures high wearing comfort. The characteristic bezel, a hallmark feature of Gérald Genta’s design, is secured to the case with five functional screws. The detailed finishing further accentuates the sculptural quality and timelessness of the Ingenieur design. The case, bezel and crown protection feature a combination of satin-finished and polished surfaces. The H-links of the bracelet are satin-finished with polished outer edges, while the middle links are polished. The case back ring, which encloses the sapphire glass case back, is polished.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>A COMPLEX DIAL WITH “GRID” STRUCTURE AND THREE COUNTERS&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Another highlight is the dial, which is manufactured in a highly complex process. In a first step, the characteristic “Grid” and the subdials are applied to the dial base. Consisting of small lines and squares, this unique structure adds additional depth to the dial and reflects the light exquisitely. The counters are treated with a sunray finish, while the outer edges feature a refined azurage. After colouring, the subdials are pad-printed with the calendar display information. The single moon disc, which is visible in the subdial at 6 o’clock, features an intricate azurage finish. Finally, the metal markers are filled with Super-LumiNova<sup>®</sup> and applied individually by hand. The rhodium-plated hours and minutes hands are also filled with luminescent material.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>PERPETUAL CALENDAR WITH HIGH-PRECISION MOON PHASE&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The three perpetual calendar subdials have been carefully integrated into the Ingenieur dial to create a balanced layout. The calendar information is displayed at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock. The subdial at the 3 o’clock position indicates the date, while the one at 6 o’clock combines the month with the perpetual moon phase. Thanks to a reduction gear train using two intermediate wheels, the moon phase display will only deviate by one day after 577.5 years. In addition to showing the day of the week, the subdial at 9 o’clock features a small leap year indicator, which counts down the years to the next leap year. In case of a leap year, the calendar will automatically insert a 29<sup>th</sup> day at the end of February. All these displays are perfectly synchronised with each other and can be advanced simply by turning the crown.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>PELLATON WINDING SYSTEM WITH CERAMIC COMPONENTS&nbsp;</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82600 calibre. The automatic Pellaton winding system uses movements of the oscillating mass in both directions to efficiently convert movements on the wearer’s arm into potential energy for the mainspring, thereby building up a power reserve of 60 hours. Components that are subject to high stress are made of virtually wear-free zirconium oxide ceramic, one of the hardest materials on Earth. The automatic wheel and the clicks are made of black ceramic, while the rotor bearing is made of white ceramic. The balance wheel oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring accurate timekeeping. With this new automatic model, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer complements its Ingenieur collection with three 35-millimetre versions. One model is crafted from 18-carat 5N gold featuring a gold-coloured dial, while two come in stainless steel with either a black or a silver-plated dial. The new Ingenieur Automatic 35 offers the same enhanced ergonomics and highly detailed finishing as the 40-millimetre version.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In 2023, IWC Schaffhausen introduced the Ingenieur Automatic 40; a luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet revisiting the emblematic design of Gérald Genta’s Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832, from the 1970s. This year, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer extends the collection with the Ingenieur Automatic 35. This new and more compact automatic model has a case diameter of 35 millimetres and a thickness of just 9.44 millimetres.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The <strong>Ingenieur Automatic 35</strong> is available in three versions. One model features an 18-carat 5N gold case and bracelet, completed with a gold-coloured dial (Ref. IW324903). Two models feature a stainless steel case and bracelet. The first one has a silver-plated dial (Ref. IW324901), the second one a black dial (Ref. IW324906).</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>ENHANCED ERGONOMICS AND HIGH-END FINISHING</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">Despite its more compact size, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 features all the characteristic design cues of the IWC Ingenieur. Among these are the bezel with five functional screws, the integrated bracelet attaching via its middle links and the “Grid” dial with applied indices. Designers and engineers worked hand-in-hand to define, proportion and finish every part and characteristic of the Ingenieur faithfully to a 35-millimetre case size. The result offers the instantly recognisable look and feel of the Ingenieur in a smaller and flatter execution with perfect ergonomics and wearing comfort.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Just as the 40-millimetre version, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 impresses with its highly detailed finishing. The three new models are finished with a combination of satinf inished and polished surfaces, adding texture and reflecting the light beautifully. Secured to the case ring with five functional screws, the bezel is satin-finished with a polished outer edge. The H-links of the bracelet are also satin-finished with polished edges, while the centre links and case back are fully polished.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>CHARACTERISTIC DIAL WITH “GRID” STRUCTURE</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">A hallmark feature of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 is its elaborately crafted dial. It features the characteristic “Grid” pattern, consisting of small lines and squares. Another detail is the intricate framing of the date window. The appliques on all three models are individually mounted by hand and filled with Super-LumiNova<sup>®</sup>. While the 18-carat 5N gold version features solid gold appliques and gold-plated hands, the two stainless steel models boast steel appliques and rhodium-plated hands.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>SEE-THROUGH SAPPHIRE GLASS CASE BACK</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">All three versions of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 have been equipped with open case backs showcasing the 47110 calibre with automatic winding and a power reserve of 42 hours. The collection encompasses three references in stainless steel and one in titanium. The Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp;40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre with a power reserve of 120 hours. All new models feature soft-iron inner cases to protect the movements from magnetic fields and are water-resistant to 10 bar, making them fully versatile sports watches for the 21st century.</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">In the 1970s, IWC Schaffhausen commissioned the renowned Geneva watch designer Gérald&nbsp; Genta to redesign the Ingenieur. The Ingenieur had originally been introduced in 1955. With the first automatic movement developed in Schaffhausen and a soft-iron inner case for magnetic field protection, this watch marked a technical milestone for IWC – also evident in the name Ingenieur, the word used in German and French for Engineer. With his unique artistic signature, Genta succeeded in giving the Ingenieur a new, highly distinctive visual identity. His Ingenieur&nbsp;SL, launched in 1976 as the talking piece of IWC’s SL collection of steel luxury watches, featured bold aesthetic codes such as a screw-on bezel with five recesses, a dial with a unique pattern, and an integrated H-link bracelet. With its innovative and disruptive design, the Ingenieur&nbsp;SL was ahead of its time. Today, Gérald&nbsp;Genta’s creation is a collector’s favourite and one of the most sought-after models from the history of IWC.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>ENHANCED ERGONOMICS AND WEARABILITY&nbsp;</strong><br>The overall dimensions of the case have been carefully reworked and improved down to the smallest detail. The lug-to-lug distance of 45.7 millimetres ensures perfect ergonomics and excellent wearability, even on a slender wrist. While the Ingenieur&nbsp;SL from the 1970s had nose-shaped horns, the new Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp; 40 features a newly engineered middle-link attachment. Aesthetically similar to the Ingenieur&nbsp;SL, this new solution enhances the ergonomics and provides an even better fit on the wrist. The curved casing ring further improves the ergonomics of the case.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>FUNCTIONAL SCREWS AND “GRID” DIAL&nbsp;</strong><br>One of the most striking changes of the new model is the introduction of functional, polygonal screws on its bezel. For the Ingenieur&nbsp; SL, a bezel with five recesses was screwed onto the case ring. As a result, the recesses ended up in a different position on each watch. With the Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp; 40, five screws secure the bezel to the case. The screws now have a technical function and, as a result, are always in the same position. In addition, the dial features a distinctive “Grid” structure, creating a balance to the technical and very sculptural case design. Consisting of small lines offset by 90 degrees to each other, it is stamped into the soft iron blank before it is galvanised. Finally, appliques with luminescence add additional depth and ensure easy legibility, even at night.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>HIGH LEVEL OF DETAIL AND FINISHING</strong><br>The Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp;40 features an astonishingly high level of detail and finishing. The case, bezel, and bracelet are elaborately finished using a combination of polished and satin-finished surfaces. The upper parts of the bracelet contain closed links without pins, accentuating the outstanding craftsmanship. The integration of an elaborately finished butterfly folding clasp highlights the beauty and thinness of the H-link bracelet. In addition, a newly designed crown protection further underscores the sporty character of the timepiece.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY&nbsp;</strong><br>The Ingenieur Automatic&nbsp; 40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre with an automatic pawl winding system and a power reserve of 120 hours. By using the German words for ‘form and technology’, IWC is not only referring to its roots in the German-speaking part of Switzerland but also hints at a specific period in German industrial design with a progressive and technical character.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>THE INGENIEUR EMERGES FROM A STEEL PLATE</strong><br>In line with this functional approach to design, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 is presented in a reduced, technical way. The collection is integrated into a large steel plate, allowing visitors to admire the sculptural beauty of the watches and learn more about their intricate manufacturing process. The history of IWC’s first antimagnetic wristwatch for civilian use can also be discovered in an exhibition, showing the evolution of this watch family from 1976 to 2013. The new Ingenieur can even be experienced in the Metaverse. In a newly designed Ingenieur space, members of the IWC Diamond Hand Club will have the opportunity learn more about the development of this timepiece from IWC’s specialists first-hand.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>NEWLY FOUND ORIGINAL DRAWING OF THE INGENIEUR SL&nbsp;</strong><br>Also in Geneva, Gérald Genta’s original hand painted drawing of the Ingenieur SL is presented to the public for the first time. The watercolour painting was thought to have been lost but was recently discovered by IWC museum curator David Seyffer and his team. The artwork features many distinguishable characteristics of an original Gérald Genta design – from the paper and the scale to the shading and the octagonal crown. Its authenticity was investigated and officially certified by the Gérald Genta Heritage Association.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>MERCEDES-BENZ C 111-III AS A VISUAL HIGHLIGHT</strong><br>A visual highlight of the booth is the Mercedes-Benz C 111-III. This vehicle was part of a series of experimental cars produced in the 1970s to test new engines and materials. A perfect example of “form follows function” engineering, its body was rigorously designed with the aim of optimising aerodynamics. With its strong focus on functionality and technical detailing, the concept car is emblematic of the respective design trend of the 1970s.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>LOUNGE AREA WITH FURNITURE FROM VITRA</strong><br>In the lounge area, visitors can relax on iconic furniture like the Lobby Chair ES104 from Charles and Ray Eames, provided by Vitra, a Swiss furniture company. Charles and Ray Eames are amongst the most important figures of 20th-century design. Since 1957, Vitra has been the only authorised manufacturer of their products for Europe and the Middle East. Typical for the designer duo’s work is the combination of functional design with an appreciation for detail. This approach is also reflected in the new Ingenieur, which features an astonishing level of detail and quality in processing and finishing.<br>&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>IWC IS “THE REFERENCE” FOR CHRONOGRAPHS</strong><br>The booth also offers an in-depth look at IWC’s chronographs. The heritage of IWC is deeply rooted in professional watches, distinguished by their robustness and accuracy. For over 40 years, this legacy has also driven the company to manufacture chronographs that are among the best the industry has to offer. An uncompromising approach to performance, functionality and quality has made IWC “The Reference” in mechanical chronographs. In Geneva, IWC exhibits chronographs from the Pilot’s Watches, Portugieser and Portofino collections. One of the highlights on the 3.8- kilometer Goodwood Motor Circuit was the Caracciola Sportwagenrennen for sports cars of a type that raced between 1925 and 1935, which was presented by IWC. The winner received an<strong> Ingenieur Chronograph Edition “Rudolf Caracciola”</strong> (Ref. IW380702). Guests were also treated to off-road rides aboard vintage Land Rovers and were brought close to the action on exclusive tours of the paddocks.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>NEW SPECIAL EDITION IN THE INGENIEUR FAMILY IWC</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">IWC also launched the<strong> Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “76th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood</strong>”. This sporty and elegant chronograph in a classic column-wheel design is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69380 caliber, featuring a pawl-winding system and a 46-hour power reserve. Its case with a diameter of 44 millimeters is made of titanium and has crown protection. The silver-plated dial, the black subdials, the black hands coated with luminescence, and the blue chronograph hands create a dial that is rich in contrasts. This sporty yet elegant timepiece is worn on a black calfskin leather strap and is limited to 176 numbered pieces. A soft-iron inner cage protects the movement from magnetic fields. The lower part of the cage is inspired by a brake disk and imprinted with “76”, commemorating this year’s edition of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>NEW EDITION OF THE HISTORIC MEMBERS’ MEETINGS</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The original Members’ Meetings took place at Goodwood between 1949 and 1966. The Goodwood Road Racing Club reintroduced the Members’ Meeting in 2014 with the intention to bring back to life the intimacy and sense of camaraderie expressed by the original Members’ Meetings. The event takes place every year in March and marks the start of the historic motor racing season. IWC Schaffhausen has been the “Official Timing Partner” of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting since 2015.</p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>GOODWOOD MEMBERS’ MEETING</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;">The Members’ Meeting was established by the Goodwood Road Racing Club in 2014. The collection will be available from autumn, but the watch family is already getting one new member: “The sporty chronograph combines precision engineering with spectacular design, so it embodies precisely the values that unite our two companies. We would like to offer Mercedes-AMG our warmest congratulations on reaching this milestone. Even if it wasn’t enough to gain a place on the podium this time round, we are convinced that future successes await Mercedes-AMG,” says Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.</p><p>Limited to 250 watches, the Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “50th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG” (Ref. IW380902) is driven by the IWC-manufactured 89361 calibre with flyback function. The case is made of titanium and the dial with tachymeter scale is silver-plated. Like the first Ingenieur from 1955, this timepiece features a soft-iron cage for protection against magnetic fields. The lower part of the cage is visible through the sapphire-glass back and emulates the appearance of an AMG brake disc with indentations arranged in a radial formation. The engraving “A TRIBUTE TO ONE MAN, ONE ENGINE” is a reminder that the performance components from Mercedes-AMG are assembled from the bottom up in the engine manufacturing department by a single mechanic.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Launch at the Nürburgring 24 Hours</p><p>The watch was presented last weekend at the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring north loop track known as the “Green Hell”. As a special highlight, Mercedes-Benz introduced the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 50 at this event – an exclusive special edition with a limited run of only five cars to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary. Every buyer of the car also receives an Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “50th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG”. The dial design of the IWC timepiece is modelled on the typical colour combinations of racetracks such as the Nürburgring – with red and white for the kerbs and black for the asphalt. IWC also made an appearance at the event as the sponsor of the Mercedes-AMG team HTP Motorsport, with Dominik Baumann (Austria), Maximilian Buhk (Germany), Edoardo Mortara (Italy) and Edward Sandström (Sweden). The AMG pilots were in a promising position when, just prior to the end of the race, rain set in – and the GT3, with its slick tyres, skidded on the racetrack.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A long-standing, intensive partnership</p><p>Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher founded AMG in 1967 in Großaspach, Stuttgart. This historic motorsport event in the south of England was the perfect place to showcase the new collection, the design of which is starkly reminiscent of the first generations of this watch family from the 1950s and the 1960s. Another highlight came in the form of a demonstration of the Mercedes 300 SL from 1955 – the year the Ingenieur was born.</strong></p>]]></pp:summary><pp:boilerplate><![CDATA[<p>IWC Schaffhausen is the Engineer of Watchmaking. Engineered<sup>TM</sup>.</strong></p>]]></pp:boilerplate><description><![CDATA[<p>A simple watch with three hands, the first Ingenieur (Ref. 666) raised the bar with its minimalist design, which IWC continued to refine from 1967 with the Reference 866. “The new collection is very much inspired by these early Ingenieur models, so the watch family is definitely going back to its roots. The influence is clear to see in the simple round case as well as in the dial with its striking hands and indices with luminescent elements,” explains Christoph Grainger-Herr, the new CEO of IWC Schaffhausen. The Ingenieur family now has a striking vintage character and is lighter and more elegant in its overall appearance. The new collection covers a lot of bases with three automatic models, four IWC-manufactured chronographs and a limited-edition reference with perpetual calendar.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Ingenieur Automatic (Ref. IW357001/IW357002/IW357003) is a simple watch with three hands, a date window at “3 o’clock” and a case measuring 40 millimetres in diameter. Three versions are available. Two of the models feature a stainless-steel case and rhodium-plated hands and indices. The first (Ref. IW357001) has a silver-plated dial and a black alligator leather strap, and the second (Ref. IW357002) has a black dial and a stainless-steel strap. The third version is the Reference IW357003, which has an 18-carat red gold case, a silver-plated dial, gold-plated hands and a black alligator leather strap.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Ingenieur Chronograph (Ref. IW380801/IW380802/IW380803) is driven by the new IWC-manufactured 69375 calibre with a bidirectional pawl-winding system and a power reserve of 46 hours. Two of the versions are available with a stainless-steel case and strap: one features a silver-plated dial and gold-plated hands (Ref. IW380801), while the other has a blue dial and rhodium-plated hands (Ref. IW380802). The stainless steel strap has been newly developed especially for the Ingenieur. It is exceptionally comfortable to wear and has a fine-adjustment clasp integrated into the buckle. The third version comes in 18-carat red gold with a slate-coloured dial, gold-plated handsand a black alligator leather strap (Ref. IW380803). All the watches feature a see-through sapphire-glass back that provides a view of the 69375 calibre.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Ingenieur Chronograph Sport (Ref. IW380901) is driven by the IWC-manufactured 89361-calibre movement and is limited to just 500 watches. The 44-millimetre titanium case, black dial and black calfskin strap create an overall impression of sporty elegance. The small seconds hand in the shape of a lightning bolt at “6 o’clock” is a reminder that a soft-iron cage protects the movement against the negative influence of magnetic fields.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The top-of-the-range model is the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (Ref. IW381701). The perpetual calendar automatically recognizes the different lengths of the months, including the leap day occurring every four years; it is extremely easy and convenient to adjust using the crown. The IWC-manufactured 89801 calibre also features a chronograph function. The timepiece with a 45-millimetre 18-carat red gold case, silver-plated dial, black hands and black alligator leather strap is limited to just 100 watches.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Goodwood Members’ Meetingas the setting</p><p>Over a dozen races featuring historic racing cars and touring cars were held on the 3.8 km Goodwood Motor Circuit in the south of England. One of the highlights was the IWC Track Moment with the new CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, Christoph Grainger-Herr, who sat at the wheel of a Mercedes 300 SL from 1955 – the year the Ingenieur was born. IWC also presented the first ever Scott Brown Trophy and sponsored the main prize. It evokes the atmosphere and camaraderie of the 71 Members’ Meetings held by the British Automobile Racing Club between 1949 and 1966. The Members’ Meeting is an exclusive members-only event where guests have access to all areas in an intimate, relaxed environment. The event offers a unique setting in which to celebrate the historic motorsport season.
